My Little Box

My Little Box

Ages and ages ago, I stumbled on a French website which offered subscription boxes containing beauty and lifestyle products once a month. Having been a fan of these types of boxes for ages I was all over it, only to be devastated to find out they weren't available in the UK.

What makes My Little Box so different? I can't quite explain it. It's very French, which I love. It's also beautifully packaged and presented and comes with an in-house magazine which features interviews with the cool and quirky businesses sending their products out in each box. I was hooked (and desperate), and when My Little Box finally rolled out in the UK I was there with bells on.

So here is my review of my most recent box, the first one I received since starting my blog!

This month's box was the Friend's Box. It has a very 'girl power' vibe which I love, and the cover design is so summery and cute. And the first thing I saw? A packet of Sweet & Salty Proper Corn. That thing got torn open and demolished before I even got to the rest of the products. Sometimes being greedy is hard. And delicious!

The next thing that caught my eye was the small, cute little clip-on lens for smart phones. I've been thinking about getting one of these for such a long time, and the fish eye lens gives a cool effect to photos. Being the sort of lazy photographer that I am, the fact that this is so easy to use is a huge bonus for me. It might be the first actual camera related accessory that I actually use!

Whenever I paint my nails and go on holiday, I always curse myself for mot bringing some nail care items. The fact that the next thing I opened was a cute little travel case that contained everything I could possibly need on holiday to do my nails. I'm so impressed with this little toolkit that I've used it already.

Beauty wise, I was impressed to find a travel size can of the Batiste Hold Me Hairspray. I'm not a huge user of dry shampoo, but I've used Batiste before and been impressed. I'm looking forward to seeing how the hairspray holds up against my usual products.

Probably my favourite item was the My Little Beauty Lip Balm, which was a lovely sheer red colour and contains SPF. I've had a few lip products from My Little Beauty, and have always loved the formula. I'm looking forward to whipping this out on holiday to avoid dry, cracked lips. The fact that it has a bit of colour means I'll look better poolside than my usual, sweaty self. Win!

The last item was the only one I was slightly disappointed in. The Kadalys moisturiser was cute, but scented (banana and mango) which was just not my thing. My skin is slightly sensitive, and tends to break out if I use scented products so this was quickly passed on to a friend.

I can't wait to use my products, and look forward to seeing the theme and products of next month's box! I'll be on holiday using all my products when it arrives, but it will be lovely to come home to a box full of goodies, and a brand new theme.
