Laura Mercier Foundation Primer

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer

The first time I opened the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer it exploded all over my hand. I then sat and stared at it for a full ten minutes, before deciding I had to rescue the situation. So what else is a girl to do other than scrape everything from my hand into a little portable makeup tub? Gotta get creative sometimes. What? I'd heard so many good things about this stuff, I wasn't going to waste a drop!

I didn't get the chance to try the primer until a girly night out with my friends last week. Normally, I don't bother with a primer, as my skin is soooo pale I can barely ever notice a difference. But given the amount of new products my Liberty calendar has been spewing at me every day, I felt obliged to try some of them out. The primer I have is the hydrating one, promising me 'dewy and flawless makeup application'. Normally I don't suffer from dry skin, but for some reason this winter has not done me any favours, and I've been throwing moisturiser at it like nothing else.

The minute the primer hit my skin, I could see a difference. My face looked brighter and healthier, and my makeup went on like a dream. And it stayed for The. Whole. Night. Normally, I'd be touching up like a mad thing, but the only thing I had to add to was my lipstick. Result! I also noticed that my skin looked super dewy in photos, and any blemishes I was experiencing were completely hidden.

The Laura Mercier Primer is geared towards different skin types. The hydrating one might be perfect for my skin now, but I know when the seasons change I'll be trying out a new one (probably the new blemish-less formula). If you've tried any of the others, or just a fab other one, please let me know...I'm hooked on primer now.

Merry Christmas!
