Reykjavik Adventure

Reykjavik Adventure

Now that the weather is starting to change, I can't help but think about the last trip I took to somewhere cold. In January, a friend and I decided to visit Reykjavik, Iceland's beautiful capital. We spent four days walking around the city, taking tours and soaking in the hot springs (the first tick for my 30 Before 30 list).

Luckily, we stumbled across I Heart Reykjavik, a blog run by an amazing woman, Auður, who also guides tours of the city. Who knew Reykjavik had so much awesome graffiti?? I couldn't recommend this tour enough, so cheap for around 3 hours of walking. Auður knows the city like the back of her hand, and was able to answer all the weird and wonderful questions our group had about the stunning city. Her blog has so many recommendations for how to spend your time in Reykjavik that it's well worth checking out.

Moody skies!

We also took an (unsuccessful) whale watching trip with Elding Tours. I only say unsuccessful as we didn't see any whales (we were out of season). But we did have a fantastic time (despite being so seasick I couldn't move for the first hour and a half), and saw some rare dolphins. We also got a great view of the city from a new perspective!

I can't wait to go back to Iceland. Next time, I hope to see more of the amazing country (hello, Golden Circle!) Reykjavik is such a cool and laid back city, I'll definitely be back!
